I was just passing through and I realized something: I really miss The Velvet Teen. I mean, I already knew that, but it just hit me rather hard when I was reading through tonight and didn't know all the songs on the set list. Oh well, you know. These things, they happen.

And yeah, I miss TVT so bad. I've only seen them in concert twice. And it'll be a whiiile before I get, or rather we all get, a chance to see them again. They are my favorite band *sigh

I never get tired of Caspian Can Wait.
They are truly my favorite band.

today I was listening to them and I realized what a fucking good drummer and songwriter Logan is. I have never actually seen/heard Casey play for them (I too have been subconsciously not seeing them live because I'm afraid of getting sad about Logan) but awesome as he may be I don't know if anyone can be as awesome as Logan.

p.s. Logan there is probably no way you remember this but my sister and I met you once after a show at SSU, I think it was in 2002. I was really quiet and stood in the back and nodded the whole time she talked to you. anyway you probably get that sort of thing a lot but you were still really nice. in fact you are pretty much the nicest guy ever.

Thanks
Thanks for the kind words, everybody. Although I admit it was ultimately my decision to leave for my own personal needs, I was very heavily influenced by my then-unknown illness as I was positive my dealing with the condition would cause me to postpone or cancel several more important tours that were already booked. I figured there was no need to bog the rest of the band down any further than I had to that point, what with my inability to practice and my needing to live elsewhere to undergo diagnosis. As it stands, it was ultimately the right decision; I had brain cancer and the operation left me unable to play the drums (hopefully not permanently--we will see), so it wouldn't have been a good scene in hindsight. Still, I miss being in the band profoundly and listen to our recordings all the time.I don't foresee my returning to the Velvet Teen in the future, although I may try to get in on the guest list from time to time. And if I can one day play music again, I may try to weasel into a recording session somehow, if they will allow.
Casey is a trooper and a damn good drummer. I wish I had had the chance to get to know him as the other guys did, but I am happy with their choice and with what I have heard of his playing. It's a different style, more aggressive, but precise and enthusiastic and controlled. Please don't avoid the band on my behalf. I wanted nothing but the continuation of the band, because I was proud of it. Pete Best makes a good living these days. I'll be totally fine.
Long live the Velvet Teen. And you.
Your friend,
Logan
